The summer may be coming to an end but our city still has a few more tricks up its sleeve including some decadent food festivals that you do not want to miss.
This weekend, Kothu Vizha 2019, which organizers call "the biggest south Asian food festival" in the city, is coming to Montreal and they are bringing their spices with them.
This outdoor summer food festival is going to be serving up some pretty great eats.
The festival event page promises that "your favourite restaurants [will be] serving some of the freshest and unique style Kothu one can find in Montreal." That, combined with the cheap cost will have you beaming with joy. There will even be a ton of vegan options to pick from.
You can enjoy a full day of entertainment, live music, fun activities and amazing food. There will also be desserts so make sure you don’t fill yourself up on flavour-filled chicken or mutton before digging in to some ice cream.
Kothu, according to a 2018 BBC article, is "a popular street food and common dinner dish in Sri Lanka, Kothu Roti, also known as Kottu or Koththu Rotti can be served with mutton, chicken or as a vegetarian meal."
"Freshness is key to this recipe, some Sri Lankans are said to be eating it to ease their hangover," the BBC states.
If you are unfamiliar with south Asian cuisine and are looking for something new and different to bite into, this is a great way to step outside your comfort zone.
