Montreal's Drunken Cinema Is Hosting A "Die Hard" Screening & It's Going To Get Messy

Die Hard is a Christmas movie. Possibly, the best Christmas movie of all time. So why not make a night of this action-packed cult classic mixed in with games and a whole lot of drinks? The guys over at Drunken Cinema have come up with just that with their “X-Mas” themed drinking game event to celebrate the holidays with John McClane and Hans Gruber in what they call a "boozy sleigh ride to Nakatomi Tower."

It all goes down tonight, December 18, at the Bar Le Ritz PDB. Expect the cozy venue to get packed with John McTiernan fans, as everyone gears up for a night of white tank tops, Santa hats, and Bruce Willis being awesome.

The doors open at 7 p.m. and the screening starts at 8 p.m. so you'll have some time for pre-game drinks, though you (and your liver) may want to hold off until the games begin.

Most of the drinking game rules are still under wraps, but according to the Facebook event page, you can look forward to a few general directives like doing a cheer and taking a drink whenever you hear the name "McClane."

And don't forget to wave your glowstick whenever there is a reference to Christmas. The last person in your group to do so has to take a drink.

You can see where this is going.

Drunken Cinema hosts a monthly drinking game featuring a lot of our favourite 80s and 90s movies like Big Trouble in Little China, Nightmare on Elm Street, and I Know What You Did Last Summer.

This also makes me realize, those childhood films are all so strangely perfect for drinking.

The price of admission for tonight's event is only $8 at the door and that includes props (like glowsticks), and the drinking rule cards, and well...a whole lot of fun with other Die Hard fanatics.

Of course, you're welcome to quote along with dialogue and otherwise make it as interactive as this Christmas film deserves. Yippie-Ki-Yay, Motherf***ers...

According to the star himself during his Comedy Central Roast, “Die Hard is not a Christmas movie. It’s a god damn Bruce Willis movie!”

We'll just have to agree to disagree on this one, Bruce.

While it's no Die Hard, if you can't make it to tonight's show, you can also check out the boozy National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation screening on Friday.
