Montreal's Iconic Old Port Skating Rink Is Hosting A FREE Fireworks Show This Month

Although deceptively difficult if you havn't done it in awhile, there is nothing more romantic than going ice skating in the winter.

TL;DR Montreal's iconic Natrel skating rink in the Old Port is officially opening on December 8th, and will be hosting a huge & free winter fireworks show on Saturday December 15th starting at 8pm.

There is no doubt about it, ice skating is the most quintessential winter activity in Canada. It's a good thing there are several outdoor skating rinks in Montreal, and one of the most beautiful is the Natrel Skating Rink in the heart of the Old Port. 

The Natrel rink will be officially opening its doors for the winter season this Saturday December 8th!

The following Saturday, December 15th, the rink will be hosting a huge and 100% free fireworks show above the Old Port. This is guaranteed to be super magical, and a great event to kick-off the holiday season.

A video shared with MTLBlog by Instagram user @21blocks this afternoon shows a massive car fire two blocks from Lionel-Groulx metro station at the Petro-Canada gas station in the Montreal neighbourhood of St-Henri.

Details of the fire are few, but it's clear several police vehicles were on scene.
