Hollywood producers flock to Montreal in the summer months to take advantage of generous tax cuts and extensive studio infrastructure to film scenes for new movies. With them come a slew of high-profile celebrities.
Just last week, Kevin Hart was in town to film his new movie Fatherhood. Though the cast and crew also took time to surprise the actor with a rousing rendition of "Bonne Fête" for his birthday. Montreal shops and streetscapes were also visible in the background of the other regular updates that Hart posted to Instagram.
Neil Patrick Harris is also scheduled to be in town to participate in production of the movie Spinning Gold, "a biopic," according to IMDb, "of 1970s record producer Neil Bogart, co-founder of Casablanca Records."
Today, we have confirmation that Harris is not only working in Montreal, but also taking advantage of everything the city has to offer. In an Instagram post, famous local chef Antonio Park thanked Harris for stopping by the Park Restaurant in Westmount.
"Happy to see my buddy [Neil Patrick Harris] back home!" Park captioned the post.
Also in the photo, on the far left, is actor Steven Strait who is playing Gene Simmons in Spinning Gold. At centre left is musician Sam Nelson Harris.
Neil Patrick Harris is perhaps most known for his childhood role on Doogie Howser, M.D. and How I Met Your Mother. In recent years, though, he has also garnered a large social media following for his adorable photos with husband David Burtka and children Harper and Gideon.
Pre-production on Spinning Gold is set to wrap up in Montreal this fall. Other cast members, including Samuel L. Jackson and Jay Pharoah have yet to be spotted on the streets of Montreal.
If you see a celebrity in Montreal, always respect their privacy and personal space. But if they agree to snap a photo with you, make sure to share it with @mtlblog on Instagram!
