Movies and television have a way of transporting us out of our regular life and into a world of fantasy, romance, comedy, or nature. Now more than ever, streaming services are becoming our best friend, our escape from the isolation of social distancing. And, luckily, the list of Netflix Canada April new releases does not disappoint.

The shows and movies, both new and classics, are sure to sustain Montrealers while they shut themselves in their apartments. From documentaries and comedies to big-budget movies, this streaming site has got us covered.

On a good day, I have trouble finding something to watch on Netflix. But the city shutdown has depleted my options like never before.

The Big Show Show is a family comedy starring WWE legend The Big Show. The trailer shows a more sensitive and comical side to the famous wrestler.

Community, The Complete Series

When: April 1, 2020

Community is a great show and I am so pumped that as of April 1, 2020, we will be able to binge-watch the entire series on Netflix.

For those of you who never saw it, it's about the fun and diverse students studying at Greendale Community College and their hilarious antics.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Season 7

When: April 24, 2020

Brooklyn Nine-Nine is one of those shows that you either love or hate. But cult followers will be pumped to know that season 7 will be available on Netflix at the end of April!

I am personally very excited to watch this drama about UN diplomat Sérgio Vieira de Mello, the worlds "Mr. Fix It."

After a bomb blast in Iraq, life as he knows it comes crumbling down.

Outer Banks

When: April 15, 2020

This television series is about a group of rebellious teenagers who find a treasure map that uncovers a long-buried secret.

The Innocence Files

When: April 15, 2020

This documentary will take you on a deep dive into the lives of wrongfully accused convicts.

The hour-long episodes follow eight individuals as they navigate an unjust criminal justice system.
