The time has finally arrived. The new and much anticipated Förena spa development in St-Bruno will finally open its door on January 31, 2020. The project, which was announced in 2016, was supposed to be ready by the end of summer 2019 but face two delays. The first phase of the sprawling spa is said to have cost $12 million and expands over 600,000 square feet, promising to be one of the largest spa facilities in the country. The second phase of the "thermal city" will include a restaurant, other pavilions, and a hotel.
There will also be numerous beauty treatments as well as massage therapy rooms in order to create an experience that is unmatched anywhere else in the metropolitan area.
Marketing director Geneviève Lamy told MTL Blog that it's "not just a place where you go and experience different installations. It is a journey that will make people travel through thermotherapy rituals inspired by [Iceland], Germany, and Russia.
"We want people to know the story behind every experience, and to understand the origins of what they see, feel [or] touch."
This one-of-a-kind experience will be an "immersive world, following the ASMR trend, which differs a lot from the usual spa music; it makes it more authentic, and we believe that sounds and smells are the best ways to stimulate memories and to make someone travel," according to Lamy.
Not only will this be one of the most mind-blowing spas in the country, but it will also be fairly affordable. Prices will start at $55 and will go up to $125 depending on the treatment.
Any treatment you choose will give you access to the saunas, baths, rest areas, and terrasse. Visitors will get a robe and sandals so that they can leave the outside world behind and move easily through the complex.
The spa recently released its first photos of the space, showing enormous pools with natural-looking rock formations.
Quebec is already full of amazing spas, but Förena promises an incomparable fully-immersive experience.
And, best of all, it is open right in time for Valentines' Day!
