I know I am not the only one who felt a pain in my chest knowing that the ride wouldn’t be there next summer but something told me not to fear, because I knew the roller-coaster gods were near.
To no surprise, La Ronde has announced its new ride and let me be the first to tell you, it looks pretty epic.
In 2020, La Ronde will take Canadian roller coasters to a new level with its new ride, Vipère. This is Canada’s first ever free-fly coaster and it is coming to our city, how cool is that?
This thrill-ride-seeker's dream will send riders on a journey filled with unexpected drops, gravity-defying summersaults and vertical free falls, giving the impression of a weightless soar through the air.
In a press release, President Janine Durette stated, "La Ronde is committed to offering our guests unique and innovative experiences every year. The state-of-the-art configuration of Vipère is unlike any other ride in Canada and the experience of being suspended outward on either side of the track is the kind of extreme thrill only a Six Flags brand like La Ronde could deliver.”
This ride will feature a massive serpentine track and riders will begin by travelling up vertically about 107 feet before being released on an exhilarating course.
This electrifying course includes free falls and 360-degree flips that will leave you screaming for more. Each vehicle free spins on its own, so no ride is the same as the one before, providing a new experience each time for the rider.

Vipère is scheduled to open in late spring of 2020 and if you are dying to try out the ride, La Ronde will be announcing the start of next season pass sales soon!
This will include a Flash Sale that will take place throughout Labour Day weekend, giving you the chance to save 70% on a pass for next summer.
