A "suspicious fire" was put out early this morning in the Plateau at La Porte Rouge on Mont-Royal, according to the CBC.

Based on details in the article, apparently, a witness saw someone go into the bar and start pouring something the CBC called "accelerant" inside the bar before the fire began.

According toCogeco Nouvelles, this suspect is still wanted.

The Tweet above was sent out by the Montreal Fire Services this morning.

With the windows blown out, it looks like much of the bar is completely destroyed and will likely be closed for the foreseeable future if they do intend to re-open.

Because someone was seen pouring something inside before the fire began, it makes sense that the Arson Squad is on-site and investigating further this morning.

Papineau was closed between Mont-Royal and de Lormier this morning while fire crews worked to put the fire out, and we will update you with any further road closures.

Based on La Porte Rouge'sFacebook Page, it looks like the bar celebrated their 10 year anniversary just last year.

We will update you with any news on the investigation of this fire or the nature of its origin.
