Quebecers are going to have to be a little careful with their money this year because a lot of things will be getting more expensive in 2019.
Everything is going up in price: Interest rates, car registration fees, housing prices, taxes, food, gas, rent, electricity, and even Netflix.

And wouldn't you know it, STM prices are going to be going up as well.
The cost of a bus and metro pass in Montreal is already up to $85! And to be honest at that price we expect much better service than what the STM is currently offering.
But somehow service has gotten worse, and yet prices will be going up.
@ericbranoverThe metro breaks down constantly, the bus schedules are all screwed up, the buses aren’t being maintained properly, the strikes caused a massive backlog of problems that still haven't been solved and some of the train don't even fit in the tunnels!
Despite all of this, on July 1st 2019 the average prices at the STM will be going up by 2%. It may not be massive increase, but it's definitely something you need to be aware of!
