Quebec Police Are Searching For A Man Accused Of Sexual Assault & Believe He's In Montreal

Quebec police are asking for the public's help to locate a man they believe to be in Montreal. The man, named Steve Vaillancourt, is wanted under an arrest warrant for a breach of conditions. The warrant for his arrest was issued on January 9, 2020. The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) expressly implores the public to not approach Vaillancourt upon seeing him. Do not "attempt to intervene directly with him." Instead, contact 911.

The SQ explains that Vaillancourt was charged in July 2019 for several crimes, including assault, sexual assault and "sexual contact," which was committed over several years.
Anyone with information about Vaillancourt or his whereabouts can also contact the Sûreté du Québec's Central Criminal Information Office directly and confidentially by calling 1-800-659-4264.

The SQ tweeted the following on January 14, 2020, asking the public to help locate Vaillancourt.
The tweet reads: Steve Vaillancourt, 38, is wanted following a breach of conditions. He could be in the Montreal area. If you see him, do not intervene directly and call 911.
Vaillancourt is described as being 5'5'' (1.65 meters) tall and about 82 kg (180 lbs).
He has brown hair and blue eyes.

The Sûreté du Québec also notes that he has tattoos on his left arm, as well as one on one thigh. It is also possible, of course, that he could be seen wearing a hat to hide his identity.
