The 100 Best Terrasses In Canada Have Been Revealed And 4 Are In Montreal

We all know that Montreal is famous for having incredible summer terrasses. With literally hundreds to choose from, our city is blessed with one of the best terrasse cultures in Canada.

This week, OpenTable unveiled their list of the 100 best outdoor dining restaurant in Canada and surprisingly, only four in Montreal appear on the list. I would've expected more! At the same time, I'm not surprised that there are so many incredible terrasses in Canada.

OpenTable's 100 best list includes your typical cities such as Toronto, Calgary, and Vancouver along with many other off-the-beaten-track cities in Canada such as Wolfville, Nova Scotia.

With only four in Montreal on the list, there's sure to be some spirited debate between locals as to whether or not these four terrasses should represent the best of Montreal!

Le Vieux Port Steakhouse

This legendary Montreal steakhouse is in the Old Port, nestled in a stone-walled heritage building. Service is top notch and the steaks are often delicious. Unlike some steakhouses, Vieux Port Steakhouse won't break the bank! Their terrasse is stunning and surrounded by centuries-old architecture.

WHERE: 39 rue St. Paul E.

Restaurant Damas

Damas focuses on creatively inspired Syrian and Persian delicacies, all enjoyed in an upscale setting. Their terrasse is well-regarded for its beauty and landscaping. Reviewers always rave about the incredible flavours of their food, to boot.

WHERE: 1201 avenue Van Horne

Bistro Nolah

In the West Island lies a unique Cajun-themed restaurant with food and an atmosphere unlike anywhere else in Montreal. Definitely worth the trip, Bistro Nolah serves up some intense Cajun flavours with year-round seasonal dishes. You can never go wrong with some Creole soul food.

WHERE: 3669 boul. Saint-Jean, Dollard-des-Ormeaux

Brasserie T!

What Brasserie T! may lack in size and grandeur, it makes up for it by serving amazing food and having one of the most bustling street-side venues in the city. The terrasse is located smack in the middle of the Place des Festivals, so if you manage to get a reservation this summer, you may be able to enjoy a free show with dinner.

WHERE: 1425 rue Jeanne-Mance

Whether or not you agree with these terrasses, it's certain that all of them represent Montreal's unique personality.

Do you think another should've made the cut?
