You can feel it in the air, can't you - that slight briskness that signals the end of summer? Why, only a few weeks ago, we could barely stand the heat and today, we're wearing sweaters after dark.

Fear not, Montreal, winter isn't coming for a long while still and though projections say it'll be totally terrible, keep in mind that winter is always totally terrible and you don't need projections to tell you that. But don't worry - you'll soon be mad at us for posting about the snow and ice and sleet every morning. We won't disappoint you, Montreal!

Enough winter talk, though! We're on the eve of the last long weekend of summer and everyone is preparing for that last trip to the chalet. University students - hope you have your schedule ready and bookbag packed! Everyone else - we're really sorry the government decided it's a good idea to start school on the last week of August.

It's been a busy week and our trusty readers brought you all some awesome stories! So before you unplug for the weekend, here's a recap of all the best photos, videos, and stories shared by Montrealers this week!

First, some music from our sponsor:

This amazing talent was spotted outside Villa-Maria metro by @ameline_r. In Montreal, the music never stops.

This, on the other hand, is not music

Fire Truck on St. Laurent Blv

Truly awful, isn't it? Our own Katina Goulakos saw this fire truck near her home on boulevard Saint-Laurent early this week and I'm surprised Katina was able to focus on writing her article, tbh.

This week's theme was obnoxious noise, apparently

Yeah, the taxis were out protesting Bill 17 again. Remember earlier this year when the Quebec government removed the need for taxis to have a permit? That's what all the honking was about.

Questionable events at the Pride Parade shocked the city this week

A group of LGBTQ members from the group FreeHKMTL were denied from marching at Pride this year because of threats from pro-communist saboteurs.

Pride claimed that they were notified of the threats from police authorities.

We discovered that neither the city nor provincial police departments notified Pride of pro-communist threats against the group. So, what's really going on?

We'll update this story as we get more details.

There was a huge truck fire on a Decarie overpass

Some commuters witnessed a dramatic event a few days ago after a truck caught fire and billowed huge clouds of black smoke over the Decarie Expressway.

Speaking of things on fire...

Lime scooters Montreal@danlaxerliveMTL Blog

Ok, maybe a Lime scooter hasn't caught fire (yet) but they're definitely catching heat from residents in Montreal who are fed up of seeing them pop up in the strangest places.

Montreal - it's a student city!

Thanks to MTL Blog readers, new students in Montreal now have a handy guide full of great advice! Don't do anything until you read it!

While you're at it, check out what you'll need to know to survive your first week in university!

But be careful when you're walking around town...

Unfortunately, you can't avoid all the creeps.

Women in Montreal shared their stories about a man who walks around the city claiming to be a photographer so that he can touch women inappropriately and take photos.

I'm not crying, you're crying...

Probably the highlight of this week, Andrew Andreoli, a local photographer and videographer released his video, "Montreal 360" - a stunning video tribute to our beautiful city that's guaranteed to make you cry.

You'll keep crying (of laughter) after watching this classic...

Karate Kid

Yes, that's a guy in full karategi giving it his all to an orange cone.

Our wonderful Stefanie Hanrahan provides us with a hilarious play-by-play here.

Don't forget to check out what's open and what's closed for Labour Day!

Enjoy your long weekend, Montreal!

There are stories everywhere. If you spot a newsworthy event in Montreal, send us a message, photo, or video @MTLBlog on Twitter and Instagram.
