The Montreal Planetarium Is Hosting An 18+ Scary Movie Screening Inside Its Dome Theatre
  • The Planetarium is hosting an 18+ Halloween party that will include a party with alcoholic beverages and a scary movie screening inside its dome theatre.
  • Prepare to be spooked like never before with this immersive experience.

With Halloween only a few short days away, it is time to start figuring out where you will spend the eve of October 31. From glitzy parties to scary haunted houses, our city has something to offer us all. The Planetarium is stepping outside the box and hosting a space-themed costume event that you are not going to want to miss.

This “extraterrifying” Halloween extravaganza will begin at 9 p.m. and continue until midnight, so be prepared for all that is to come.

Throughout the evening, there will be a screening of the 1979 classic Alien in the Chaos Theatre, which, if you haven't been, features a dome screen that surrounds the viewers below. The movie will be played in English but there will be French subtitles so that everyone can follow along.

And, to add to it all, there will be popcorn and alcoholic drinks for purchase, meaning you can get drunk in space…I bet you have never done that before!

This 18+ event is space-themed, so make sure you dress appropriately. Metallic bodysuits, alien inspired makeup — why not have fun with your outfit and get some killer social media content at the same time.

There will be paid parking available for guests at 3200 Rue Viau, or you can always take the metro there.

Regardless of how you get there, just make your way down because this innovative event is not one to miss.

Inaugurated by former mayor Jean Drapeau in 1966, the planetarium has always been a go-to for tourists and Montreal locals, alike. Built for the Expo 67’, this establishment has come a long way since its opening.

The original structure has since closed. But its mission lives on in the Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium, which opened in 2013.*

If you are intrigued about the universe and all the planets that surround ours, this is a space that will trigger your imagination like never before.

And, at the same time, it will educate you and allow you to take part in an immersive experience unlike anything else in the city.

Why not do something this Halloween that is totally out of the box and slightly bone-chilling, because, at the end of the day, no one can hear you scream in space....
