The Torchlight Christmas Walk Is Coming Back To The Plateau With A Massive Fireworks Show

Get ready to kick off the holiday season!
The Montreal Plateau Candle Walk & Fireworks Show Is The Most Romantic Event Of The Season

There is no denying it. The Christmas season is upon us. And to kick off the holiday festivities on December 7 is the very popular Christmas Candle Walk, Noël aux Flambeaux, that will take place in the heart of the Plateau Mont-Royal. Every year over 10,000 people take to the streets for the Christmas march, torches in hand, to celebrate Noël Dans le Parc and raise donations for the non-profit Moisson Montréal.

The magical night is accompanied by music, Christmas choirs, and larger than life fantastical characters taking part in the parade.

Musicians of the Chasse-Balcon will take over six balconies along Rue de la Roche, to keep everyone moving and dancing along the route.

The Noël aux Flambeaux starts at 7 p.m. at the Parc des Compagnons (by Mont-Royal and Cartier) and arrives at the Parc La Fontaine (by the de la Roche entrance).

The whole evening ends with a bang, with an amazing musical fireworks show over Parc La Fontaine put on by GFA Pyro.

If you're planning to attend, torches are for sale for $2 each or you can donate non-perishable foods in exchange.

You can take a look at the list of food items on the Montreal Harvest website.

At 7:30 p.m. a benefit concert by Montreal group Clay and Friends will take place in Parc La Fontaine.

The group's music is a brilliant blend of hip-hop, soul, funk, jazz, and reggae and is sure to get the festivities started.

The choirs that will be performing all our favourite Christmas melodies are The Vocal Ensemble, The Jugglers, The Nanas, The Little Voices of the Plateau, and The Railway Voices.

Each year Parc des Compagnons is transformed into a Christmas village of yesteryear with wooden huts selling all the best in holiday food (think hot chocolate, mulled wine, and pastries).

There is even an outdoor fire you can warm up next to while you roast marshmallows.

Noël aux Flambeaux is one of Montreal's best ways to welcome the holiday season, and give a little back to the community in the process.
