The Newest Montreal SQDC Location Is Finally Open & Fully Stocked (Photos)

West-side Montrealers rejoice, we finally have our own SQDC! Which is great news, considering Quebec has bought and consumed the most weed in Canada, since legalization.

The new location on Queen Mary Road is right at the corner of Decarie, just a mere stroll from the Snowdon Metro.

I made my first visit this weekend and let me just say, the place is fully stocked. Take a look at the pictures below.

When speaking with staff they said they opened during the first week of September, though certainly with little fanfare... in fact, it almost seemed to me like the SQDC was trying to lowkey open without hordes of people knowing.

Welp, I guess I'm about to blow that up.

The new Queen Mary location is one of many brand new locations that the SQDC has scheduled for opening this year. It will be able to serve people living in Côte-des-Neiges, Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, Westmount all those living on the west side of the mountain.

Which is great news for everyone, since those communities were previously hoofing it all the way to Acadie station or otherwise joining the endless line at the downtown Sainte-Catherine location.

While I've never really had to wait longer than 30 minutes at the SQDC downtown, even with monstrous-looking lines, when walking into the Queen Mary location I was quick to notice... there were literally only three customers.

The map below shows all the SQDC locations that are currently open in the central Montreal area. They've done a good job of spacing the locations out as much as possible, so that no matter where you live there is still a location somewhat accessible.

Note how friggen empty this place is!

The SQDC asks patrons not to take pictures so as to avoid capturing customers while they shop, but I was able to ask permission to take photos at the Queen Mary location because there were so few people it was easy to ensure no customers or staff were in the shots.

The photos below show the classic SQDC walls, with their three weed types, Sativa, Indica and Hybrid.

Considering they'd barely been open a week upon my arrival, it's not a huge surprise that their shelves are fully stocked.

But in comparison to the downtown location, whose shelves are often looking a little bare, this was a sight for sore eyes and I couldn't help but be at least a little pleased.

Other new SQDC locations are slated to open across the province and more details about those locations can be found here.
