The STM Is Giving Away A Free Accessory Across Montreal This Week To Help You Secure Your Phone On The Metro
December really is the time for giving. Not only are friends and family participating in the annual tradition this time around, but it looks like the STM will be as well!
TL;DR This Tuesday, December 18 and Wednesday, December 19 at 6:30AM and 3PM the STM will be handing out free phone straps at different stations across Montreal.
We all know and love the "metro lady," whose real name is Michèle, through her more recent appearence in STM ads advising passengers on how to do their part to reduce metro service interruptions. But this year she is also playing an extra special role for the holidays in a new STM promotion.
To help Montrealers combat the phone-dropping epidemic (especially when in a rush to catch the next bus or train), the STM will be giving away free phone straps across the city both tomorrow and Wednesday.
For those of us that don't own a "pop-socket," which are those tiny attachments that expand on the back of your phone to help with grip and reduce risk of a phone being dropped, this could be pretty beneficial.
As Michéle demonstrates in the video, it looks like the attachable strap keeps your phone extremely secure in your hand. So not only will you feel a lot safer carrying your device around, but you'll also be sporting the STM logo wherever you go.
There are two days this week that the phone straps will be handed out for free:
- Tuesday, December 18 at 6:30AM at Berri-UQAM and Bonaventure stations
- Tuesday, December 18 at 3PM at Lionel-Grioux and Jean-Talon stations
- Wednesday, December 19 at 6:30AM at McGill and Université de Montréal stations
- Wednesday, December 19 at 3PM at Place-des-Arts and Rosemont stations
It's safe to say you'll have quite a few opportunities to grab yourself this free STM phone strap just in time for the holidays!
