Three People Were Stabbed In Separate Incidents Across Montreal Last Night

Three people were injured last night in Montreal's downtown and Plateau areas. Police responded to three separate stabbings in a little over seven hours.

Though paramedics do not fear for two of the victim's lives, a third victim, unfortunately, died of his injuries, making this the ninth homicide this year in Montreal.

According to CBC, police were called just before midnight to the scene of a stabbing on the corner of St-Laurent and Maisonneuve.

The victim, an eighteen-year-old man, was found with stab wounds in his upper body. He was transported to the hospital in critical condition after paramedics performed chest compressions on the scene.

The video below may be disturbing to some: it shows paramedics trying to resuscitate the victim at the scene of the crime.

Unfortunately, the victim died of his injuries a short while later in the hospital.

Currently, no one has been arrested in relation to the stabbing, though it is believed that the stabbing occurred during a fight between the victim and another man.

The St-Laurent metro was closed while police searched the area for a suspect. The STM states that it is still closed as of this morning.

Just a few blocks away, on the corner of St-Catherine and St-Christophe, another man was stabbed. Police received a call around 11 p.m. Sunday night about this stabbing.

The victim, a 39-year old man, was taken to the hospital, but police say that they do not fear for his life. No suspect has been arrested in relation to this incident either.

It is believed that a fight preceeded the stabbing in this case also. There is no news right now as to whether the two stabbings were related.

Early Monday morning, a third man was stabbed on the corner of Henri-Julien and Laurier. Police say that the victim, a 54-year old man, is "severely injured."

The stabbing took place just after 5:00 a.m. on Monday morning. A spokesperson with the SPVM confirmed that the stabbing took place after a conflict between two men.
