Tim Hortons Is Delivering Free Coffee To Essential Workers In Quebec
- To show appreciation for essential workers, Tim Hortons is delivering free coffee to dozens of businesses and institutions across Quebec.
- It's just one of the ways companies and individuals across the province are sharing love for the people on the front line.
Essential workers are on the front line in Quebec and Tim Hortons is showing thanks. The company announced earlier this week that it would begin bringing coffee "to those serving communities across Canada." In a statement to MTL Blog on Friday, a Tim Hortons spokesperson confirmed that, to date, it has made coffee deliveries to over 50 locations in Quebec.
Among the businesses and institutions visited so far are the LaSalle Hospital, Montreal Children's' Hospital, Pierrefonds Animal Hospital, and a police station, as well as Metro and IGA grocery stores and Pharmaprix.
"We’re continuing to deploy our coffee trucks across Canada and plan to visit at least 10 more locations in Quebec today," the spokesperson stated.
"It’s a small gesture to say thank you to those making a big impact."
The Government of Quebec has ordered the closure of all non-essential businesses until April 13.
Restaurant dining rooms are among the non-essential spaces, but Tim Hortons is maintaining its take-out and delivery services, according to a statement posted to Instagram.
The company previously cancelled the paper cup portion of its annual Roll Up The Rim contest.
The promotion now runs entirely on the Tim Hortons app.
Individuals across Montreal are celebrating essential workers, too.
Every evening at 8 p.m., people across Quebec flash their house lights in silent appreciation for health care workers.
Catholic churches will also ring their bells all at once every Sunday in part to say thanks to medical professionals.

Meanwhile, tributes to grocery store workers, cleaners, and law enforcement, to name a few, are pouring in on social media.
