Montreal Olympic Park

The Olympic Park isn't too frequently used by the public these days, save for the occasional music or food festival. It's too bad because the park is prime real-estate to build something super cool. Like a skatepark, for instance.

Well, it seems like they've heard our prayers, Montreal, because the Olympic Park will be unveiling an all-new Vans Legacy Skatepark this weekend and will be hosting the Vans Park Series for the first time ever in the city!

The all-new permanent skatepark was a gift from Vans to the city of Montreal after they relocated their Park Series competition to Montreal from Vancouver.

The giant flow bowl and surrounding areas of Montreal's Olympic Park have been transformed into an internationally-acclaimed skatepark that is now equipped to host huge international skateboard events. Once the Vans Park Series rolls through this weekend, local skaters will be able to make use of this incredible addition to the Olympic Park!

Skaters and skate fans, alike, are in for an incredible weekend of skateboarding in the city. The Vans Park Series is an international competition that invites the best park terrain skaters from all over the world to show off their best moves for a $160,000 grand prize.

On July 12th and July 13th, watch the best park terrain skateboarders pull off death-defying moves and maybe join in on the action yourself.

That's right! During the event, Vans invites anyone to try their hand at skating the Legacy bowl

Once the competition is over, Vans pros will stick around and offer a "skate skool" where the uninitiated can try skateboarding.

There will also be free skates throughout the day where local skaters can some show off their skills. Who knows, someone might spot you and offer you a spot on the tour!
