Warwick, Quebec Just Broke The Guinness World Record For The World's Largest Poutine (Video)

Poutine is by far one of our province’s favourite foods and the reason why is obvious...

The dish is made up of delicious french fries, mouth-watering cheese curds and hot, flavourful gravy, how could you not love it?

Warwick, a town located in Central Quebec has taken their love for poutine to an entirely new level and decided they wanted to break the Guinness World Record for the largest poutine.

Take a look at the pictures and videos below.

It comes as no surprise that the world’s largest poutine would come out of Quebec because let’s face it, we are the only ones who know how to do poutine properly.

In 2015, Trois-Rivieres, another town in Quebec, set the record with a 2,000-kilogram poutine.

Sebastien Lemay, co-owner of Fromage Warwick, along other cheese producers in the area combined forces to beat that record.

Making this poutine was not an easy task. Preparing the cheese curds took about twenty-eight hours and the French fries took about two hours to make, Lemay told the Montreal Gazette.

About forty deep fryers paired with forty volunteers spent the day getting this record-breaking poutine ready, so you can definitely say it was made with love.

The eighteen-meter table held the poutine as a representative from the Guinness World Records prepared to weigh it.

Drum roll, please…

The final weight was 3,034 kilograms, 1,000 of which was cheese curds alone, how insane is that?

After the record was broken, hundreds of hungry poutine lovers came to taste the giant, record-breaking dish and the results were delicious.

This record-breaking poutine was not made in vain. Six thousand tickets were sold to the event and at ten bucks a pop they were able to donate sixty thousand dollars to the Hôtel-Dieu d'Arthabaska, a local hospital, notes the CBC.

I don’t know about you, but I am really craving a poutine now!
