We Got The Chance To Interview The Organizers Of Digital Nightclub Montreal

And they told us all about the next event.
We Got The Chance To Interview The Organizers Of Digital Nightclub Montreal
  • Since Digital Nightclub Montreal's first online party was such a success, a second one is being on April 4.
  • And we were lucky enough to get to speak to them about their online club concept and its many benefits during this time.
  • Read our interview with the party organizers below!

Last Saturday, the "first digital nightclub" in Montreal opened its virtual doors to thousands of people eager to don their best (and weirdest) nightclub gear and dance and drink the night away like it was a regular weekend night. Of course, it was all done from the comfort of individual homes. The guys over at Digital Nightclub Montreal are back at it tonight, bringing another massive party to all of the self-isolators in the area.

This time around there is an entrance fee of $10. But with an original waiting list of nearly 35 thousand, this allows even more party attenders, (without having such a limited capacity), DJs, and a donation of the proceeds will go to the healthcare workers at The Jewish General Hospital.

Tonight from 9 p.m. to midnight, you can get your weekend vibe on with top live DJs like DJ CRK, DJ Jay Ramis, DJ kärl k-otik, and none other than The Neighbors Dj.

Oh, and if you're a healthcare worker, you are the true VIPs of the party, with free admission. Just follow the instructions below for your free ticket.

We spoke to Digital Nightclub Montreal to find out how it all works, what went on at last week's party, and what they have in store for tonight.

Last week’s first digital party sounds like a real success. For people who don’t know, could you walk us through how it works?

"We couldn’t be happier with how well the first digital party went! Essentially, we use two platforms to make it all happen. Zoom, for the videoconference and Twitch, for the live streamings of the DJs."

"An email is sent out the day of the party to all the Digital Clubbers that have signed up. That email contains the Zoom link — so that everyone can see everyone and 4 different Twitch links — each one of them leading to the live stream of the DJs. Unlike conventional nightclubs, people get to switch up the DJs if they wish to listen to something different!"

"Throughout the night, we 'spotlight' different people so that everyone gets their moment of fame. We will also be conducting challenges to keep things interesting!"

"It’s worth mentioning that the DJ’s Twitch links are also shared on our Facebook group the day of for those who wish to simply listen to the DJs without interacting with people."

How many people were in attendance?

"The first event went viral overnight! 35.8 thousand RSVP’d on the Facebook event as either Attending or Interested. Unfortunately, our capacity was limited to 2 thousand attendees."

"Seeing as it was a success and many wished to return, this time around, we have extended our capacity and will be able to host as many people as there might be!"

We heard there were some great setups and costumes from last week. Who stood out?

"Montreal’s Digital Clubbers were nothing less than perfect! There were dinosaur and robot costumes, disco balls, toilet paper art, and people danced their hearts out. It was wild."

"We had an amazing response from the community to our challenges and we can’t wait to see what people have in store for this weekend!"

"We compiled all of them in a promo video that you can check out here."

How many people do you estimate will be at tonight's party?

So far, 1.8 thousand have RSVP’d and the number is changing by the hour!

Are people still able to buy tickets?

"Absolutely, tickets will be available until this Saturday, April 4 at 8 p.m."

(Buy your tickets here!)

Do you plan any differences from last week’s party?

"Not only will we be able to cater to a much larger crowd, but we are also welcoming new DJs to our lineup. The Neighbors are not only talented but their resume is nothing short of impressive. They have actually just done the renowned SXM Festival not too long ago."

It’s great that you will be donating part of the proceeds. What percentage of the proceeds are you donating and which hospitals?

"We will be donating 50% of profits to the Jewish General Hospital of Montreal. We are also gifting all healthcare heroes free tickets for the event!"

How can they get their free tickets?

"Here is what they need to do:"

"Post a picture in scrubs, uniform or an employee ID"

"Tag @digitalnightclubmtl on Instagram or Facebook"

"Use the hashtag #remoteclubbers Then, we’ll send over their discount code!"

And of course, if there’s anything else you would like to share with our readers!

"Perhaps, especially during these trying times, connecting and celebrating is essential so that we don’t all fall in despair! If we can’t go out to the party, then let’s bring the party to everyone’s house!"

Happy virtual partying, Montreal!
