Power couple and cultural icons Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith have just announced that they have created an all-new touring music festival called WORLD TOUR that will officially be making a stop in Montreal. Other notable worldwide locations include Berlin, Milan, Seoul, Taipei, Osaka and Miami. This worldwide musical event is going to kick off in Melbourne, Australia on March 14, 2020, according to the press release published this morning.
As of now, the only musical entertainer that has been announced is Robbie Williams, who will play the Melbourne show that will kick off alongside the Formula 1 ®Rolex Australian Grand Prix.
Could this mean the Montreal stop will also line up with the Grand Prix weekend?
We reached out to find out more about WORLD TOUR, this all-new "multi-genre event-series," and will be keeping you posted as we learn more.
As for now, what we do know is that the event series plans to feature "high-profile artists, local stars and the biggest DJs in dance music," according to Billboard.
Acts performing with Robbie Williams will be announced in the coming weeks, which should give us a better idea of what we can expect to see when WORLD TOUR hits Montreal.
It's definitely more than a little flattering that Montreal is one of the first locations mentioned, considering that the press release indicates World Tour is being "staged in the world’s most iconic cities."
Like... wow! Thanks, Will and Jada! Glad you agree that Montreal is iconic and therefore worthy of a stop on what is sure to be a whirlwind tour.

The event is being described on its Instagram page as "a new ground-breaking, touring music phenomenon," and I have to say... if the Smiths are involved, it likely will be pretty epic.
Will and Jada's company, Westbrook Inc, is joining with Apollo World Touring to pull the event off.
While we still have no idea what kind of musical talent we'll be seeing here in Montreal, the President of Westbrook, Tera Hanks, has said that they are "gathering some of the biggest names in music to celebrate cities around the world and the amazing creativity found there."
This likely means we're going to see a great mix of local and worldwide talent.
The event is meant to "connect passionate music fans across the globe and spread a positive message in every city" where it makes a stop.
We can't wait to share more information about this event with you when it comes!
