If you're an animal lover then clear your schedule this weekend August 17 and 18 as Laval is hosting what may be the cutest, fuzziest festival of all: The Rendez-Vous Mondou Dog Festival.
The festival is being held for two full days at the Laval Nature Center. Admission is free and you can treat yourself and your dog to over 40 exhibitors specializing in all things canine-related.
There will be agility demos, expert advice, races, dog training on specific breeds, workshops, nutritional information, and even free nail clips (a canicure, if you will). If you're scared of losing your best-friend, for a small fee you can take advantage of the on-site microchip clinic.
Do you think your dog is trained well? Enter your pooch into one of the many tests offered to attendees and see how you stack up.
But let's get to the puppy yoga. Mira, a non-profit organization that offers free guide and service dogs for people in need will be on hand. For a small donation, you can take part in their puppy yoga and experience a blind journey with a guide dog. All proceeds go towards the Mira Foundation.
Between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on both festival days, you're invited on the Great Dog Walk, a 2km trail through the park. All dog breeds are welcome. The walk ends with an official photo and don't worry there are plenty of resting stations with water for your pup.
By participating in the Great Dog Walk you will also be entered to win a $500 gift card at Mondou.
There are a lot of great workshops being held. You can check out the full program here. The CaniChazz Society is offering a prevention workshop to educate pet owners and children on the body language of dogs to avoid bites.
On Saturday evening at 8 p.m., the animated movie The Queen's Corgi will be shown on a giant screen. Just bring a chair or a blanket and you can watch a movie under the stars with tons of other dogs around.
I'm not sure if there's anything better than a full weekend of dogs.
