Secteur Bellechasse, a widely-used public space in the Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie borough, needs a makeover, and you can decide what's going to change. Le Comité logement de la Petite-Patrie, with the help of McGill University, is calling out to the public for insight on how to make Bellechasse better with the Imaginons Bellechasse project.
An open forum for allowing all citizens to participate, Imaginons Bellechasse will let you comment on various urban design proposals and projects for the Bellechasse site. You'll be able to throw your two cents in 'til July 15th, so make sure your voice is heard.
Be sure to check out the potential changes to Secteur Bellechasse, and make it known which ones you like/hate. Read about them all here, but to give you an idea, here are some of the main proposals as part of Imaginons Bellechasse:
Safer pedestrian walkways to the Rosemont metro
Espace Quatre Saisons: an area for local shops to set up and sell their wares year-round
Remaking remnants of the Coca-Cola plant into a celebration of the area's industrial history
The Urban Grid: a reworking of the street network to optimize public spaces
Direct access from Bellechasse to metro station using the viaduct
Creation of an urban market place/community square
Erecting a monument/tower of urban agriculture
Digging out an underground tunnel allowing access to the bus
Head to Imaginons Bellechase and throw your thoughts into the discussion. The Comité logement de la Petite-Patrie and the McGill Schools of Urban Planning and Architecture and Faculty of Law really do want to hear what the community has to say. Head to the FB page for more info too.

Montreal's iconic Greenspot Restaurant is selling hot dogs for 74 cents this weekend, September 18 and 19, to celebrate its 74th anniversary.
On Facebook, the Saint-Henri eatery says it's converting its small parking lot on avenue Greene into a picnic area for the event.
And the wiener fun doesn't stop there. Greenspot is having a contest on its Instagram page where followers have the chance to win 74 hot dogs — a prize they can redeem at their discretion.
The restaurant invites followers to share the Instagram post and tag three friends to enter the contest.
Daily two-for-one deals have also been part of the 74th-anniversary celebrations.
Dating back to 1947, Greenspot serves American and Quebec diner classics (including a long list of hearty poutines) amid retro decor (including individual table jukeboxes — they don't work but they're super charming!).
Get the details on the 74th-anniversary hot dog deal below.
