Montreal's Metro System Grand Opening In 1966 Is A Nostalgic Blast From The Past

Get ready for a serious blast from the past. Like, old-school WW2-style ad campaign, complete with a British guy hilariously announcing things about Montreal, level blast from the past.

The British Pathé Film Archive just posted this vintage British piece on the grand opening of Montreal's metro system way back in 1966, and thank goodness they did, because the video is equally historic and hilarious.

Black and white, with a "buy war bonds!" vibe, the video is from another era entirely. It's also fun to see the original crowds getting on the metro and how much (or in some cases, little) Montreal's metro system has changed in the last 50+ years.
