Photo cred - Avenue Mont-Royal
Squeeze in as much summer as you can on Mont-Royal avenue this weekend for the largest sidewalk sale and street festival in the Plateau. The borough is ending summer in style, with a huge chunk of the iconic avenue becoming a sunny hub of activity filled with food, shopping, and the best parts of summer.
Beginning on Thursday, Mont-Royal will be a pedestrian-only zone from St. Lo all the way to D'Iberville (map) and will stay that way until Sunday, August 31st. Vendors that call Mont-Royal avenue home will take to the streets with money-saving deals in tow, meaning you get to shop in the sun and spend less money, a win-win in our books.
More than just a sidewalk sale, Mont-Royal will be filled with festivities, including: musical performances of all sorts at Mont-Royal station, food trucks serving out original delicacies to fuel your summer fun, a neighborhood block party-garage sale combo with Plateau residents selling their wares for super cheap, and, of course, tons of terraces to chill and drink at.
And the party keeps going well after the sun goes down, as Nuit Blanche sur Tableau Noir festivities begin in the evening on Mont-Royal. Art and cinema from local and international artists will be shown and performed, with a huge mix of workshops and artistic installations taking over the avenue as well. Check out the full listing of NBTN events here.
Shoppers and deal-hunters will also be pleased to hear that all stores and vendors on Mont-Royal avenue will be staying open all the way until 11pm, meaning you can quite literally shop all day and night during this sidewalk sale. Or, you know, take a break to check out all the other things going on, if you're soft like that.
Enjoy the last weekend of August on Mont-Royal, where the best parts of summer are pretty much all gethered together for you. Get more info at Mont-Royal Avenue's FB page and the official event listing.
