Montreal's major Santa Clause parade along St. Catherine street downtown may have already passed, but if you missed it, or refuse to do anything Christmas-y 'til December hits (like myself) then you'll be happy to hear that another Xmas parade will be getting the city in the holiday spirit. On Saturday, December 6th head to Mont-Royal avenue for the "Marche de Noël aux flambeaux" event and get festive.

Before the parade begins, candles will be sold for $1 at Mont-Royal metro, so you can help light up the night. The parade itself will begin at 7pm at Parc des Compagnons (map) the Mont-Royal Xmas parade will march along the street towards Parc La Fontaine, to the la Roche street entrance (map). To end the parade, a huge music-fireworks show will be held at the pond at Parc La Fontaine, going down at around 7:45pm.

Mont-Royal's Xmas parade has over 10, 000 people participate every year, with 5 different choir/singing groups and tons of floats and performers marching along too. Classic Christmas tunes will be playing at Parc La Fontaine, remixed by DJ FunkyFalz, which will add some energy to the parade and prelude the fireworks show in the park.
