Montreal's New "Secret" Lounge On De La Montagne Street

Sushi, drinks, oysters, drinks, and also drinks.
Montreal's New "Secret" Lounge On De La Montagne Street

If you like seafood, sexy people, and an intimate ambiance, we've got the place for you.

Since June of last year, Queue de Cheval has opened its doors to a new eatery -Angry Lobster Bar. Recognized foremost as a Seafood & Oyster Lounge, this gem is located downstairs of the premium steak house, Queue de Cheval on rue De La Montagne.

Managed by the same owners as Queue de Cheval and QDC Burger, Peter Morentzos has got an eye for fine dining - and gathering Montreal's elite. Although very different in crowd (and menu), his third venture, remains just as successful in quality and service.

From the help of his son, Chris Morentzos, they have turned a family legacy into the new IT scene of Montreal.

Unlike the formal ambiance from the renown steakhouse , the ALB remains more vibrant in colour and style- from the dark red leather seating arrangements to the warm atmosphere, it holds an uncanny resemblance to a Jazz house set in New York.

When I first walked in, I was greeted by a welcoming staff member who took my jacket right away to put it into coatcheck. The maitre d sat us at the bar, where we enjoyed oysters from all over; East to West Coast.

The place was filled with hot young professionals and entrepreneurs. The music remained upbeat and jazzy, and it was the perfect setting to mingle with familiar faces from Montreal's Elite.

The ALB is now hosting a 5-8 every Wednesday where you can enjoy $2 oysters (or a dozen for $20), seafood platters (that are to die for) and unlimited glasses of bubbly.

Definitely worth making it your new go-to on Wednesday evenings.
