Montreal's Old Port Is Hosting A Massive Oyster Festival

Celebrate everyone's favourite aphrodisiac.

It seems like every other week this summer, Montreal has been filled with one food festival or another. Well, as it turns out, there's one more happening before summer officially ends that every seafood lover needs to go to. Montreal's annual Oysterfest will be taking place next Sunday, August 30, at Peel Basin in Old Port.

Starting at 12:00pm, you'll be able to indulge in oysters from the best restaurants around the city, including Notkins, Park, Bevo, Flyjin, Grinder, Suite 701, and Taverne Monkland. Last year they served more than 23,000 oysters, so trust me, there will be no shortage of food. And of course you can't have oysters without a few drinks, so Burgundy Lion, Rosewood and Philemon will be there to keep the beverages flowing.

On top of that there'll also be music, shopping, shucking competitions, drink making competitions, and a plating competition, so make sure you brush up on your oyster skills.

All of this amazingness does, however, come at a price. $40 will get you entrance and 2 Oysterfest coupons, $70 will get you entrance and 10 Oysterfest coupons, or you can opt for the $350 VIP ticket, which gets you a private section, open bar, all you can eat oysters, and private food and drink service.

Check out the Oysterfest website for more info.
