Montreal's Old Port Is Hosting Outdoor Movie Nights By The Water
Officials and planners have been hard at work for years to make the Montreal Old Port more of a destination for residents and tourists, alike.
Those plans have included the giant ferris wheel, more access to the Saint Lawrence River, and, especially, the complete renovation of the three major wharfs in the neighbourhood.
The Montreal Science Centre already calls one of the wharfs home. But the other two have undergone major improvements in recent years, too.
The Grand Quai de Montréal, as the project is called, will include a cruise ship port, observation tower, and a massive new public lawn at the tip of the wharf adjacent to the river.
The Quai will be a venue for dozens of new spectacles and events in Montreal, including outdoor movie nights!
The huge lawn is hosting weekly films from now until the beginning of September, culminating in a screening of Wonder Woman on September 6th!
The best part? The moves are completely FREE to visitors!
The outdoor movie nights promise to be the perfect evening for a chill night out with friends or a romantic date. Imagine cuddling on a blanket overlooking the river with a bottle of wine and watching a film as you hear the sound of the water rushing by.
Here's a complete list of the remaining screenings this month:
August 9 La Bolduc
August 16 Les Trolls
August 23 Bon cop, bad cop 2
August 30 Chiens sous enquête
September 6 Wonder Woman
See you there!
