Montreal’s Old Port Will Be Hosting A “River Party” This Summer

Just a few years ago, there were barely places to swim in the city and even today the spots are so rare that's it's easy to forget Montreal is an island. 

Luckily for the last 14 years, the Comité Citoyen Montréal Baignade has been pressuring the city of Montreal to create more places where citizens could enjoy the water that surrounds us.

Every year they organize a river splash party to show people it's perfectly safe to swim in the Saint-Laurence. 

Hundreds of Montrealers will be gathering in the Old Port to take a dive in the Saint-Lawrence River in order to raise awareness and to take back the river!

It all takes place August 11 at the Quai Jacques-Cartier.
