Montreal's Saint-Henri Is Opening An All-New Authentic Shawarma Restaurant On Notre-Dame Street

Shawarma, hummus, falafel, and all the Middle Eastern foods you love to eat are making their way into Saint-Henri. Sumac, a new Middle Eastern restaurant in the borough, is set to open its doors and start shaving off the shawarma at the end of the month, giving Montrealers in Saint-Henri access to legit Middle Eastern eats closer to home.

Sumac, according to Eater Montreal and the resto's Facebook description, will specialize in fresh-to-order falafel, shawarma, salads, hummus and all sorts of other spreads. The standard stuff for a Middle Eastern restaurant, though lets hope Sumac keeps things fresh and authentic, making for a legit Boustan alternative.

Located on Notre Dame (map), the resto is nearly ready to go, with the sign already up and everything. According to Facebook comments by the owners, Sumac will be open by the end of the month. They got less than a week, but we're willing to wait a few extra days for some really good falafel.

Keep up to date with Sumac's opening by checking out their Facebook page, Instagram, and Twitter feed.
