Montreal's Saint-Joseph Oratory Has A Super Secret Garden Fountain
I grew up about 15-minute walk from the St-Joseph Oratory.
Every morning, for almost 10-years, I took the Queen Mary Road bus that passed in front this historic monument, and for ALL these years I had no idea that this majestic hidden garden was found on the grounds of this famous Montreal landmark.
When visiting the Oratory it's not immediately obvious that this fountain is tucked away on the east side. In fact, you have to climb the stairs to enter the oratory and then come back out on the side in order to access the garden.
It takes a little bit of effort, but it's worth it. Just look at these beautiful photos and videos. This place looks like it's straight out of a fairytale book. Are we in Europe?
The garden is called " Way of the Cross" and was designed by famous Famous landscape architect Frederick Todd in 1942.
So - next time you visit Cotes-Des-Neiges you should definitely check out this beautiful garden. Or, if you have friends and family visiting from out of town, take them around for a visit I'm sure they will appreciate.
