Montreal's STM Is Giving Out Free Metro Tickets During Igloofest

Since 2019 began, there have been few things that have really been able to cheer Montrealers up. The weather has been horrible, everyone's cold and tired, and the holidays have been over for a couple of weeks now. Luckily, Montreal's most popular winter festival is just around the corner. That's right people, Igloofest is just the kind of pick-me-up you could definitely use right now.

TL;DR The STM will be giving away FREE metro passes every Saturday from January 19 to February 2 in celebration of the Igloofest winter festival in Old Port. 700 passes will be given away each day at the site of the festival. More details below.

The festival takes place annually in Old Port and this year we can guarantee it will be the coldest (yet most fun) year Igloofest has ever had!

To make festivities even more enjoyable, the STM wants to help get you out of the cold and offer a safe (and affordable) ride home. That's why they'll be handing out FREE metro passes every Saturday night at the exit of the Igloofest site.

The specific dates that you can land yourself a free return trip on the metro are:

  • January 19
  • January 26
  • February 2

There's a limit of 700 tickets per Saturday, so you'll definitely want to locate the STM's pompom toque at the Igloofest site before you miss your opportunity to travel for free!

If you were looking for any more reason to attend Igloofest this winter, this is definitely it!
