The ground may be white with snow but tomorrow night the skies will be alive with colour, as the TELUS© Fire on Ice fireworks festival kicks off. Beginning tomorrow night, the "winter fireworks festival" will continue for the rest of the month and into the new year, making for a weekly spectacle that is entirely free.

Each and every Saturday from tomorrow 'til January third, the fireworks show will begin right at 8pm. While you can enjoy the multicoloured pyrotechnic show from anywhere with a good vantage point in the city, Merry Montreal is hosting a festive (and warmed!) chilling zone in the Old Port, which will make for a comfy spot to watch with friends.

The theme for this year's firework shows will be "video games," which will definitely please all the nerds in the city. Fingers crossed for a Super Mario spectacle, and if you just creamed your jeans at the thought of a video game-themed spectacle, be sure to check out the SNES symphony happening later this winter.

So you can plan out your Saturdays for the rest of the holiday season, below are the date and times for all of the TELUS© Fire on Ice fireworks shows.

  • Tomorrow, December 13 @ 8pm
  • Saturday, December 20 @ 8pm
  • Saturday, December 27 @ 8pm
  • Saturday, January 3 @ 8pm
