Get ready for an explosion of feathers, sequins, and rhinestones, because the Moulin Rouge is making its way to Montreal. As a massive fan of the movie, this is some pretty exciting news - seriously, I can't tell you how many time I've listened to Nicole Kidman's rendition of Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend.
What's even more exciting is the reason for their visit. For only the third time in its nearly 130-year history, the world famous cabaret show is coming to Canada to recruit some new talent!
If you've ever wanted to know exactly what is takes to be a Moulin Rouge dancer, the criteria is pretty precise. According to the audition notice, for a dancer to be considered they have to have a strong background in classical dance and "Moulin Rouge qualities" which include being of a small size (1.75 m for girls and 1.85 m for boys ), a shapely figure, and having personality, charisma and the capacity to pick up the choreography. And for the boys, some finely toned muscles.
The auditions will be held on July 14, at 1pm at Studio Bizz (551 Mont-Royal E). So if you want a chance to join the most famous cabaret in the world, start working on your Can Can and make your way over to Studio Bizz to show 'em what you got.
