Pad thai, general tao, peanut butter dumplings and more!
The restaurants in this city are honestly like none other. We take everything to do with restaurants seriously here and there's a few things that make certain restaurants stand out. The food has to be amazing, the decor has to be cool and creative and the atmosphere has to be upbeat and exciting!
It's called Maneki Comptoir Asiat' and it's located at 3121 Rue Hochelaga in Montreal's Hochelaga area! It's not completely new, since they opened up at the end of last summer but there's definitely tons of people that still need to discover this amazing spot!
This awesome restaurant serves Pan-Asian cuisine, which is cuisines from all over Asia, not just one area. Some of their best dishes include peanut butter dumplings, general tao, pad thai, chicken mayo, fried rice, Cantonese noodles and so much more!
Not only is their food insanely delicious, their decor and interior design is stunning! Everything is blue and white, they have a neon sign, and of course tons of Maneki-neko waving cat figurines which is where their fun name comes from!
Alright, friends, the snow has officially hit. Which, sure, means a whole lot of transportation problems and a general, unified sense of rage... but! It also means a whole lot of pretty great things, too.
Imagine you're strolling down the street heading home when you walk by an alley. You hear a noise so you turn your head and you see some something moving around on the ground. It's probably a cat or maybe a raccoon or something. NOPE - it's a fucking alligator!
Not exactly what you were expecting, but that's exactly what happened to a resident of Tétreaultville in the borough of Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve on Tuesday night. The man immediately called the police and said he saw a large reptile in an alley near Ontario street.
When the cops got there, they cornered it using garbage cans and called Berger Blanc who were better equipped to handle situation. They eventually managed to get the alligator into a cage.
Having kids may be costly, but if you're a parent, know a parent, or have one in the oven, you can get a cool $100 just off of your newborns diapers. Hoping to inspire parents to make a diaper-switch, the borough of Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve is offering $100 to all families who use cloth diapers for their kids, reports CBC.
A random c-note won't be given to anyone with a cloth diaper in their possession, the cloth diaper cash incentive is technically a "rebate" for parents willing to invest in reusable diapers. A cloth diaper kit can cost upwards of $450, so the $100 payback will definitely be welcomed, though families can save nearly a $1000 from not buying new diapers after a couple years.
Getting the $100 is oddly funny, as you need to prove you have a child in diapers, and show that you've bought (or rented, which is apparently a thing) cloth diapers. I don't know if they're expecting people to show up with their babies or what, but if they are, wait until your kid has dropped a steamy deuce, for added hilarity.
Not alone in the cloth-diaper initiative, Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve is actually the third borough to offer cash for cloth, with Verdun and Ville-Marie already doing so. The purpose of the rebate is to reduce the amount of waste in landfills, which are already pretty rank even without having baby poop thrown in.
