- If you're looking to start compiling your spring bucket list, this gorgeous road trip to a New Haven Cherry Blossom Festival is a must.
- Grab your bestie or your fave human and hit the road to this town square festival that is straight out of Gilmore Girls.
- Seriously, Stars Hallow who?
If you are simply craving spring and are ready to forget the snowy tundra of Montreal, this Connecticut Cherry Blossom Festival needs to go on your spring bucket list is an absolute must. Not only will you get to dance among the softly falling cherry blossom petals, but you and your bestie or your favourite human get to go on a gorgeous road trip to escape the city. Plus, this festival is more than just wandering around and looking at some trees.
The 47th annual Historic Wooster Square Cherry Blossom Festival will also host exhibits and activities along with three different musical shows that are sure to pique the ears of all music lovers.
There will also be tons of great food and local artists and authors present to share their craft and perhaps provide you with the perfect birthday present for the Taurus in your life.
Why? Well, the event is happening right near the end of April, just in time for Taurus season. And as a Taurus, myself, I can vouch and say you can never go wrong with giving a good book or a cute, locally-made handicraft.
As I mentioned above, there will be three musical acts doing down on the day of the festival. At noon you can hear "Airborne Jazz," which will be followed by awards and announcements.
Then you can take in St. Luke's Steel Band and be swept away by the sounds of the Caribbean.
After the Steel Band, strap in for Carlos y Su Momento Musical who will inject some Latin rhythms into the day, along with salsa dancing.
This is not your run-of-the-mill cherry blossom festival.
The full 2020 activities, exhibits and vendors have yet to be spelled out in full on the Historic Wooster Square Association's website. But we can get a pretty good taste of what's to come based on last year's itinerary.
Previous participants included food vendors like Chabaso Bakery, Jack's Hot Dogs, La Carreta Mexican Food, Lalibela Ethiopian Food, Szabo's Seafood, and coffee from The Jitter Bus.
Local shops, like Bar Beauty, were also present. Plus, there's a whole section for our furry, four-footed friends!
There were also plenty of artists and authors present, offering up their jewellery, prints and cards, photography and woodworking.
