We should consider ourselves lucky to live in a relatively safe country. However, violent incidents do sometimes happen, but it's not often that they happen with individuals as young as 15-years-old.
A violent incident unfolded on Tuesday morning near Ashburn Golf Club in Halifax, and subsequently, a young Canadian Girl was charged with attempted murder.
It all started when officers located a stolen truck on a Halifax highway. The officers then approach the stolen truck near the Golf Club, this is when one of the suspects proceeded to resist arrest and stab the officer.
The severely injured officer was quickly brought to the hospital where an emergency surgery was performed. He is now in stable condition and recovering from the incident.
That said, the two teenagers - one boy, one girl - were arrested after the stabbing and charged overnight.
The girl is being charged with a laundry-list of items that would make even a grown criminal wince. She faces charges of attempted murder, possession of a weapon, resisting arrest, two counts of theft under $5,000, break and enter, theft of a motor vehicle, possession of stolen vehicle dangerous driving and mischief over $5,000.
At the moment, the girl is in the hospital. However, once she is discharged she will be required to appear in court. Stay tuned, as there are definitely more developments to come with this story.
