As a result, the government of Quebec is looking for ways to engage and entice citizens to participate in cultural activities because they have just pledged to invest a lofty sum - 5 million dollars, over the next 5-years to make free-entry to multiple museums across the province possible.

Starting June 3rd Quebec residents will have free access to museums across the province on the first Sunday of each month.

That being said, in Montreal there will be a total of seven museums participating in the free museum day. And here they are:

1. Montreal Museum of Fine Arts.

2. Musée d'art Contemporain de Montréal

3. Canadian Centre for Architecture

4. Montreal Holocaust Museum

5. McCord Museum

6. Musée des maîtres et artisans du Québec

7. Écomusée de la Maison du fier monde
