A Massive Meteor Shower Will Be Visible Over Montreal This Week
The fireballs can be seen from the downtown core.
Meteor showers are a spectacular thing to witness. Unfortunately, when you live in the city, we don't get to see many celestial events because of light pollution.
But that's not the case for the Perseid meteor shower.
It is the biggest and most incredible shower of the year, and this year, we are expecting the biggest one since 2009.
What makes this meteor shower truly amazing is the fact that it will be packed with up to 200 meteors per hour (Twice as much as normal) as well as the most fireball meteors you've ever seen.
Normal meteor showers aren't visible from big cities, but the Perseid fireballs will actually burn brighter than some stars which means they will be visible even from the downtown core as long as building aren't in the way.
The event is supposed to take place on August 12th at 10:00 pm.
