Just in case you've been sleeping under a rock, fall is coming. Or is it?
Today, Septemeber 17th is boasting record-breaking temperatures. It certainly doesn't feel like fall.
But trust us when we say, fall is on its way.
Scanning The Weather Network and Accuweather's newly released "Full Fall Forecast" we can easily see the weather trends that are to be expected for the rest of September, October, and November in Montreal and southern Quebec.
The image above clearly shows that on the whole, we can expect above average temperatures for Autumn 2018.
However, according to the Weather Network, there will be some crazy and unexpected weather patterns this fall.
Unlike last year's record-breaking late Septemeber and early October heat, this year Montreal can expect more seasonal and cool temperatures around the same time this year.
However, come late fall, late October and November, the temperatures will rise again above normal and Montreal will experience milder than average temperatures overall for the end of autumn. Woohoo!
Also, you can keep that raincoat stored in your closet because we will expect less rainfall and fewer storms than usual for this time of year.
This lingering warmth will have some consequences on what everyone loves the most about autumn, though. Foliage, specifically, will be affected.
Peak fall colors will come later than average this year. However, the colours are anticipated to be brighter and more colorful this year.
Some other seasonal-related phenomenon to anticipate in Montreal this fall: Ladybugs!
Ladybugs AKA Asian Lady Beetles, tend to head inside during the months of October and November looking for a place to stay warm.
Sure, one lonely ladybug night looks cute. But when they begin to invade in swarms, deliver itchy and painful bites, and emit a pungent stink, they become exponentially un-cute pests like any other.
TL;DR: Overall, I'm happy to announce that, despite the ladybug infestation, it looks like Montrealers can anticipate a mild and pleasant fall ahead!
