Backstreet Boys Making On-Screen Appearance For Montreal's Birthday This December

Doing it real big for the city's 375th.

Montreal's 375th anniversary celebrations are already underway, and the next big event has been announced.

Montréal s'allume just revealed the lineup for their huge televised variety show that will be taking place on December 11th.

Several artists will be paying tribute to Montreal though music, comedy and a whole lot of surprises.

The lineup includes: Backstreet Boys, Céline Dion, Coeur de pirate, Kent Nagano, Ariane Moffatt, Jean Leloup, Ginette Reno and many more!

But the artists we're most excited about has to be the Backstreet Boys.

And if you're wondering why the hell the Backstreet Boys want to celebrate Montreal's birthday, it's because they kinda got their start here.

In 1995, a radio host on Mix 96 heard the Backstreet Boys song We’ve Got It Goin’ On, which was only playing in Europe and he decided to play it on the air. Later he also played the song Get Down. The songs were so well received that it essentially launched the Backstreet Boys’ career in North America.

The TV special will air on Sunday December 11 on ICI Radio-Canada Télé, Télé-Québec, TVA and V at 8:00pm. This is where - and when - you can catch the Backstreet Boys making their recorded, on-screen appearance in Montreal.
