Barpass, All You Can Drink For FREE For 1 Hour (no jokes)
Finding free drinks in Montreal just became a hell of a lot easier thanks to the new Barpass app now available for iPhone and Android users. Barpass (distilled with <3 in Montreal) seeks out and lists bars in your immediate area and then allows you to instantaneously RSVP for gratuitous alcohol at that specific venue. A bunch of drink-related apps are already on the mobile scene, but Barpass features an easy-to-use interface and social features which make it stand out from the rest.
First, go download the app, obviously. As soon as you open the app, a screen will pop up showing the closest bars with offered drink deals. Times are listed on the left to let you know exactly when drink deals are offered. They only last for an hour, so be sure to be time-conscious when heading out to your next event!
Click on a venue and you'll be taken to another screen which tells you everything you need to know. The date, time, exact address, and even a helpful description of the bar are shown to help you make it on time and know what kind of party you'll be crashing. From there just click 'Get Drinks' and you, and your friends, are instantly RSVP'd for the event, with free drinks included.
Sounds too good to be true, right? We thought the same thing. A test run at Barpass's event yesterday proved our doubts wrong. Free drinks were abound and fun was in session. Here's the photo evidence, with FREE mojitos!
Allowing to not only confirm yourself, but also your friends, is a major appeal to Barpass. While there is a set limit of +5 (which seems fairly reasonable) there is also nothing stopping your pals from also downloading the app and adding themselves. Instead of focusing on the individual, Barpass caters to the friend-group, which definitely makes any bar or event more fun. As Barpass says: “Now you can drink together”
To kick off this amazing app in Montreal, MTL Blog will be throwing the Barpass Launch Party as part of our DRINK! Series of events. RSVP on fb, download Barpass, and come drink (responsibly) with us for free!
