The Canadian Tulip Festival is one of Canada's longest-running agricultural festivals. For 74 years, the festival has celebrated the friendship between the Netherlands and Canada after Canadian soldiers helped liberate the Dutch in World War Two. It also commemorates the birth of Princess Margriet in Ottawa in 1945.
