A trailer for the new, live-action Sonic the Hedgehog movie was released today and people are losing their minds over the animation.
The movie is based on a video game of the same name, but you don't need to have played the video game to know what the furry blue creature looks like. The new movie, however, is a departure from his traditional representation.
The devil may work hard, but memers on the internet work harder. There are already a ton of memes about the big, blue "abomination" on Twitter, and they are HILARIOUS.
I've compiled a few below for your amusement.
For context, this is the live-action movie trailer:
Of course, everyone is focusing on Sonic's weird human teeth:
People really like comparing Sonic to the iconic "Fuggler" toys:
The Sonic trailer certainly isn't getting a lot of love from fans:
People are not happy.
Some of the photos of the animated Sonic have been flagged for "sensitive material." You can't make this stuff up.

Some people are trying to "fix" the animated character:
And just take a look at how monstrous Pikachu becomes with Sonic's teeth:
The jokes about Sonic just write themselves:
But also this nugget of truth:
People on Reddit also have something to say.
If anything, I'm probably more likely to watch the movie now that I've seen these reactions. Maybe that's what producers wanted all along.
I may go watch it for all the wrong reasons, but I'll watch it anyways.
