Yes, you've read that correctly. British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and PEI all have snow in the forecast for the coming week. The west coast will be seeing the snow this weekend and as we move past the weekend the east coast can expect their snow to hit around Monday or Tuesday.
Only Nova Scotia has managed to escape snow in the forecast (thus far) - unless I managed to miss the ONE town that does have snow in the forecast, I was pretty thorough to consider most major towns in the province and they really are coming out the lucky ones this time.
TL;DR Pretty much every province in Canada can expect snow this weekend or early next week, according to both Environment Canada and The Weather Network. Only Nova Scotia is safe, so let's all move there until Spring actually decides to start.
The following provinces have actual Snowfall Warnings in place, issued by Environment Canada.
B.C. Peace River
La Grande River
In addition to these more severe Snowfall Warnings, the regions below can also expect some snowfall in the near future, according to The Weather Network.
In Ontario, a "wintry mix" is forecasted to move through many southern towns including Windsor, Chatham, Sarnia Port Stanley, London, Grand Bend, Simcoe, Kitchener, Hamilton and Toronto. This is snow forecasted for Sunday, following rain throughout Friday and Saturday.
In Alberta, The Weather Network is anticipating "a month's worth of snowfall over this weekend alone." Friday will see light snow developing overnight and increasing on Saturday. Calgary is forecasted to see up to 10-15 cm of snow, with more northern regions expected to see close to double that.
In Manitoba, it looks like Winnipeg will be starting off next week with "a few flurries" - but even a few flurries in April feels like the end of the world.
Saskatoon, Saskatchewan is also going to see wet snow on Saturday, flurries on Sunday and snow-rain showers on Monday, according to The Weather Network.
In the Maritimes, St. John's, Newfoundland will see snow hitting them next Tuesday and unfortunately it looks like it will continue into next weekend. Moncton, New Brunswick will also get snow-rain showers on Tuesday. Charlottetown, PEI will also see mixed precipitation on Monday of next week.
Only Nova Scotia has managed to escape the snow in the forecast, but I wouldn't be surprised to see the flurries spread down to their neck of the woods as well.
I guess Spring is on hold until further notice for Canada. We'll let you know when Spring is back in session... or maybe we'll skip it altogether and go straight to summer? I don't care, as long as the snow is done.
