Air Canada is growing. The announcement yesterday that the company was in talks to merge with Air Transat, another Quebec-based airline, was a demonstration of its postion as one of the strongest airlines in North America.
The former crown corporation is also a leading employer. In addition to claiming the title of "Megastar" company by The Globe and Mail, for example, Air Canada was also named one of the best places to work in Montreal in January.
And as the company grows, so too do its employment opportunities. Currently on the Air Canada website, there are over 70 job postings across 19 different departments. If you have an interest in the airline industry, now is the time to pursue it.
Airport customer service agents are most in-demand. There are permanent and part-time jobs available across North America, most notably in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Los Angeles, California.
There are also a handful of open jobs in the Information Technology department and one coveted open position in in-flight services. Meanwhile, 17 people are needed to fill critical maintenance positions.
"Air Canada offers a wide range of benefits to its employees including health care, insurance programs, travel privileges, pension plans, vacation time, and more," according to its website.
"Air Canada employees love to travel. Why wouldn't they? With one of the most generous employee travel programs in the airline industry, Air Canada offers them and their immediate family members special rates on airfare," the careers page sates.
"Plus, through Air Canada's partners, they also enjoy discounts on car rentals, hotel accommodations, vacation packages and tour operators." This could be your chance to see the world while working for one of the most revered companies in Canada.
Air Canada has dozens of job postings on its website. Employee benefits include discounted airfare and hotel deals.
Happy job hunting!
