Health Canada has issued a public warning about a recall issued for a toy sold at Dollarama. The toy in question is the Little Princess Doll from the MONTOY brand.
The toys were sold between September 12, 2017 and December 18, 2018.
The dolls contain dangerous levels of phthalates that can potentially pose a chemical hazard. Certain phthalates may cause reproductive and even developmental abnormalities in children if the products are sucked or chewed.
111,378 units have been sold in Canada in 6 variations:
- Brown hair, yellow dress
- Blonde hair, blue and pink dress
- Red hair, blue dress with yellow outline
- Red hair, pink dress
- Black hair, purple and pink dress
- Blonde hair, blue and orange dress
The dolls being recalled all have the same identification code. If you believe you have one of these dolls, check the number on the lower back part of the packaging. The item number is 08-3066065 and UPC 667888315611.
If you have one of them, Health Canada advises you to either dispose of them or return them to the store to obtain a refund. In the case of a recall you don't need receipt.
