In response to a diss track from Eminem's Kamikaze album released last year, Justin Bieber, Canada's pop sweetheart, called out the legendary hip-hop artist. Biebs says that Slim Shady simply "doesn't understand" the new generation of rappers.
The song, "The Ringer," takes aim at contemporary rappers that are currently dominating the charts, including Machine Gun Kelly, Lil Pump, and Lil Xan. In the song, Eminem calls them cheap imitations of Lil Wayne's "mumble-rap" style. Slim raps, “I should aim at everybody in the game, pick a name, I’m fed up with being humble."
Bieber called out Eminem on Instagram saying that "I just like Em's flow but don't like that he's dissing new rappers. I like the generation of rap he just doesn't understand it." Good luck charming your way out of this one, Justin.
Not one to start a social media feud, Eminem hasn't yet responded to Bieber's call-out. Here's the original screenshot from Bieber's Instagram story.
On Twitter though, people are taking their turns making fun of Bieber for calling out Eminem. The veteran rapper's fans took many opportunities to call out the Canadian pop star.
Could this be the start of yet another highly entertaining celebrity feud or has Bieber finally bitten off more than he can chew with this one?
Some Twitter users have said that no one understands modern rap, anyway. I'm sure that many would agree with this sentiment.
Others are concerned about Bieber's well-being. Eminem is a legend in the rap game, his accolades need no explanation. Bieber, on the other hand, is...hmm, let's just say he might not be up to the challenge.
I would pay so much money to see a Bieber versus Eminem rap battle, to be totally honest.
Eminem, Slim Shady, Marshall Mathers, whatever you want to call him, it's undeniable that he probably knows a little more about this kind of stuff than Justin Bieber.
That's not to say that we don't want a Slim versus Biebs rap battle, so please make it happen, universe!
